Second Alarm Fire in East Baltimore

Around 6:45 am on March 29th, Fire Communications struck box alarm 6-30 for a reported dwelling fire at 438 E Biddle Street, East Baltimore.  First arriving units reported a three story, end of the group dwelling, smoke showing.  Companies arriving in the rear reported fire showing from the 2nd and 3rd floors.  A working fire was transmitted.

Puget Sound sanitation workers, employed by Allied Waste/Republic Services, honored picket lines on Thursday morning that were established by striking Teamsters from Alabama. Picket lines were set up at the company’s facilities in Seattle, Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Kent/Kent Meridian.

  After AMR’s 1113(c) filing yesterday, there has been continued action on both sides to reach an agreement. On multiple occasions TWU work groups have met with company negotiators. There has been some progress, slow at times, but the talks are often frustratingly complex. The TWU Negotiating Committee’s and the company continued to exchange proposals and counters today.

Target Store in New York Closes Due To Organizing Campaign
